TRAUMA-INFORMED THERAPY FOR MOMS IN YORK, PA & ACROSS PENNSYLVANIA

Motherhood can be beautiful.

And still not feel the way you thought it would.

You can love motherhood and still feel overwhelmed by it.

You can be grateful for your life and still struggle within it.

You can hear, "You're doing such a great job," and still go to bed wondering why this feels so hard.

Both things can be true.

And if you're tired of carrying all of that by yourself, I'd love to help.

Maybe the problem isn't that you're doing motherhood wrong. Maybe the problem is that you've been trying to carry too much by yourself.

The sleepless nights. The constant mental load. The motherhood anxiety that keeps your mind running long after everyone else has gone to sleep. The pressure to be everything for everyone while somehow holding onto yourself, too.

And sometimes it's more than that.

Sometimes motherhood has a way of bringing old wounds back to the surface—a difficult birth experience, pregnancy loss, trauma, or experiences you thought you had already moved past.

When motherhood feels harder than you expected, it's easy to wonder what's wrong with you.

But what if nothing is wrong with you?

What if your anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion, or emotional reactions make complete sense given everything you've lived through and everything you're carrying right now?

While everyone talks about the baby, very few people talk about the mother.

The woman navigating one of the biggest transitions of her life while still trying to take care of everyone else.

You don't have to keep carrying it alone.

Imagine feeling more secure in yourself and your motherhood journey. Imagine trusting yourself again. Imagine feeling more grounded, more connected, and more confident in the life you're building.

That kind of healing is possible.

Therapy that supports both the woman and the mother.

Because motherhood doesn't just change your daily life.

It changes you.

Motherhood changes the way you see yourself, the way you move through the world, and the way you show up in your relationships, your family, and your own story.

At Catsam Wellness, therapy is a space where both the woman and the mother get support.

Not just the anxiety.

Not just the trauma.

Not just the difficult season you're trying to get through.

You.

The whole person underneath it all.

The woman navigating postpartum anxiety while trying to hold onto herself.

The woman carrying the weight of a difficult birth experience, pregnancy loss, trauma, or a season of life that changed her in ways she never expected.

The woman wondering why this feels harder than it seems to for everyone else.

Together, we'll create space to understand what's happening beneath the surface, make sense of the experiences that have shaped you, and help you build greater confidence, self-trust, and security in who you are becoming.

With specialized training in trauma and maternal mental health, I understand that motherhood doesn't happen in a vacuum. The experiences, relationships, losses, and life transitions you've lived through don't disappear when you become a mother—they come with you.

That's why our work together goes beyond managing symptoms.

It's about understanding the whole story, honoring where you've been, and helping you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and support.

Because healing doesn't happen when you're judged.

It happens when you feel safe enough to tell the truth.

And when you finally have a place where you don't have to carry it all alone.

Chelsy Catsam, a postpartum and women's health therapist, sits in her office chair in York, PA.
Hi, I'm chelsy

Like many women, I imagined motherhood would change my life. What I didn't expect was how much it would change me.

After having my first baby, I experienced feelings of loneliness, anxiety, uncertainty, and identity shifts that so many women quietly carry during pregnancy and postpartum. I found that I was questioning myself constantly and longing for the version of me that once felt confident and grounded.

What surprised me most was how little recognition there was for the transformation happening within me.

While so much attention was given to caring for my baby, very little attention was given to what it meant to become a mother.

I was grieving parts of who I had been while trying to understand who I was becoming.

That experience became the foundation of Catsam Wellness.

Today, as a therapist for moms in York, PA specializing in trauma and maternal mental health, I help women navigate the challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, anxiety, overwhelm, trauma, and major life transitions with support that feels grounded, compassionate, and deeply human.

Over the years, I've also seen how often motherhood intersects with experiences that came long before it—birth trauma, pregnancy loss, difficult relationships, medical trauma, grief, and other experiences that continue shaping how women see themselves long after the event has passed.

I believe therapy should be a place where a woman can take her bra off and exhale.

A place where she doesn't have to have all the answers.

A place where she doesn't have to pretend she's okay when she's not.

A place where she can bring the messy, complicated, beautiful truth of what she's carrying and know she'll be met with compassion, honesty, and support.

Because I don't believe women need another person telling them how to do motherhood perfectly.

I believe they deserve a space where they can feel seen, understood, and more like themselves again.

And I'd be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
